Cel Spellman & Samuel Edward-Cook on Better (2023)

Better was a UK miniseries from BBC, following corrupt detective Lou, who has a moral awakening that leads her to attempt to correct her professional and personal path. But she encounters great resistance when she attempts to disconnect from the McHugh crime family that she's been helping for decades, putting her life and her own family in the crossfire. Samuel Edward-Cook appeared shirtless in a pair of scenes in the first episode for his role as Lou's husband Ceri. He is shirtless in bed when Lou arrives home late at night and later topless for post-sex canoodling on the couch. Episode 4 got cast member Cel Spellman naked. His character, Donal McHugh, is ordered by his father to get close to Lou's son Owen (played by Zak Ford-Williams). He uses their friendship to lure Owen to a secluded river and takes a photo that his father can use to threaten Lou. Owen surprises him with a kiss. While Donal reveals to Owen that he's not gay, he still encourages him to strip naked and join him for a swim in the river, where it's implied that he will drown him. Though Owen does join him in the water, it's later revealed that Donal didn't hurt him and would not have followed his father's order.
