J. Alphonse Nicholson on P-Valley (2022)

After an extended absence, the STARZ drama P-Valley returned this week for its second season. Episode 1 revealed the hardships faced by the Mississippi residents in the wake of the pandemic, which caused the closure of club Pynk and halted the rise of LaMarques' rap career, as he was shown stuck at home with no real outlet for his music. Cast member J. Alphonse Nicholson was shirtless for the majority of his scenes while trying to regain control of his destiny, while also lamenting his rift with lead character Uncle Clifford (played by Nicco Annan) after publicly spurning him in the Season 1 finale. It was revealed that Uncle Clifford had not returned any of LaMarques' texts in five months.
