GayTV Recap: General Hospital (Episode 14344)
The General Hospital story of husbands Lucas and Brad continued in Episode 14344, as their story picked up after the revelations at the Nurses Ball. With Lucas (played by Ryan Carnes) and his nephew Michael (played by Chad Duell) now aware that Michael's friend, local schoolteacher Willow, is the birth mother of Lucas & Brad's adoptive son Wiley, whom she hoped to keep away from her ex, cult leader Shiloh, the news began to spread among Lucas & Brad's inner circle of family, with several other characters plotting to keep Wiley safe. The episode began with Brad (played by Parry Shen) meeting with Michael at the pub, where he spent some quality time with little Wiley, wondering how Brad & Lucas were holding up in the wake of the truth of Wiley's birth mother. Brad confided in him that they were both terrified of the possibility of losing their son.
Meanwhile, Lucas showed up at the school, looking to speak with Willow. She warned him that they had to keep their conversation secret. Lucas came looking to hear Willow's side of her story, after apologizing for lashing out at her at the Nurses Ball. Back at the pub, Michael filled Brad in on Willow's history, and how she escaped Dawn of Day to keep her child safe.
Brad agreed with Michael that Willow wasn't the enemy and that it was important to all of them to ensure that Wiley remained safe from Shiloh and Dawn of Day. They were then joined by Detective Chase (played by Josh Swickard), Willow's loyal boyfriend. Brad prepared to take off with Wiley, but grew uncomfortable when Chase commented on how happy Michael & Wiley were together. Brad continued to harbor an even bigger secret, that Wiley wasn't Willow & Shiloh's child, but Michael's presumed-dead child with his crazy ex, Nelle. Over at the school, Willow explained how she got involved with Shiloh and his cult and how it all came crashing down when she discovered she was pregnant, leading her to know she had to get her child away the group.
Willow told Lucas that she would answer any questions he had about her past, but it didn't matter now. She reiterated to him that all that matters is keeping Wiley out of Shiloh's clutches. Lucas revealed that he had been afraid to trust her, but he trusted his nephew Michael's opinion. Lucas asked her about what made her agree to the adoption in the end. Willow told him that she wanted to find the best home for her child and seeing him with Brad & Lucas has convinced her that Wiley is exactly where he should be, with them. Lucas told her that now that they know her, they would be open to having her as an open part of Wiley's life, but a flattered Willow told him that she could never see Wiley again.
Lucas was caught off-guard by Willow's statement. She told him that she couldn't trust that Shiloh would be brought to justice and her being anywhere near Wiley would only provide him with more suspicions about Wiley's identity. Lucas was sure that Shiloh could be kept out of the way, but Willow told him that she couldn't take any chances. She would even stay away from Michael when he spends time with Wiley. Lucas commended her on her efforts to keep Wiley safe and promised her that one day, when the boy is older, he would tell him about how amazing his mother is.
Brad returned to the pub, finding Lucas' father Julian (played by William de Vry) behind the bar. He revealed to Julian that Lucas had texted, asking Brad to meet him there. He wondered if Julian knew why. Julian had an idea, but he remained tight-lipped until Lucas arrived. Lucas showed up, telling Brad that he was feeling a bit better after talking with Willow, revealing that he went to her and now better understood that she had the same goal they did when it comes to Wiley and that she wasn't a threat to their family.
Brad was happy to hear that, but wondered where Julian came in. Julian revealed to them that he had played his part in keeping Wiley safe, by faking documents that tied Willow to Wiley, with the help of Lucas' sister Sam. Julian assured them that they had put measures into place that would ensure that Shiloh could never track down Wiley. This left the couple embracing happily at the end of the episode.
