Happy Birthday, Sam Heughan!

Sam Heughan celebrates his 39th birthday today, making him the man of the moment. The hunky UK native is no stranger to the blog, as he's put his body on display for the last four years, lighting up the small screen on the STARZ series Outlander. In honor of Sam's big day, the blog takes a look back at his first film where Sam played a gay role. Sam starred in the television movie A Very British Sex Scandal. Sam played Eddie McNally in the docu-drama that told the story of journalist Peter Wildeblood (played by Martin Hutson), and how his experiences and persecution in the 1950s helped lead to the decriminalization of homosexuality in Great Britain. Sam got several shirtless scenes as Peter's longtime love interest, Eddie. The film also featured skin from Martin and also Karl Davies, who frolicked alongside Sam on the beach for his role as his friend Johnny Reynolds.
