GayTV Recap: General Hospital (Episodes 14259-14268)

General Hospital's gay couple Brad (played by Parry Shen) and Lucas (played by Ryan Carnes) looked to help out some family during the February 5th episode. They arrived at the outdoor plaza to find Elizabeth & Franco cheering on Elizabeth's young son Aiden with his ice-skating. When they offered to join in the fun, Franco called them out on their staged arrival, which Elizabeth confessed to having planned, for Aiden's sake.

Franco brought up Brad's nefarious past, mentioning that he should be a better liar. Lucas quickly reminded him that things have changed, but Brad felt uncomfortable, given his secrets regarding their infant son Wiley. Elizabeth revealed that she hoped Aiden being around a happy gay couple might help with his gender identity issues. Aiden joined them, happy to see Wiley. Lucas & Brad offered to join Lucas' young cousin on the ice. They went off skating hand-in-hand.

Lucas soon returned after suffering a bruised butt from his skating efforts. He told Elizabeth that Aiden seemed okay and happy, as he continued to ice-skate and chat with Brad. She hoped he was absorbing the fact that being gay wasn't bad or abnormal after his classmates taunting. Franco took the opportunity to thank Lucas for trying to help with Aiden, despite Franco's negative past with his sister. Brad arrived just in time to hear Lucas mention that his relationship with Brad showed him that people can change for the better, making Brad feel guilty for his secrets.

In the February 13th episode, Brad arrived at the Metrocourt restaurant with baby Wiley, only to run right into Willow, the woman who believes she's Wiley's birth mother. She tried to make small talk. Brad was instantly uncomfortable and tried to leave, only for Willow to call him back, saying that she knows that Brad is aware of who she really is.

Brad tried to cover, but Willow figured from his discomfort around her that Julian must have told him that she was the mother behind Wiley's adoption. Brad admitted that he was aware of her identity. He wondered if she was saying this because she wants to be part of Wiley's life. Willow told him that she felt it was impossible, but maybe in the future, if Wiley wants it. She asked him to keep her secret from the everyone else, including Lucas, and Brad reluctantly agreed.

They were soon interrupted by Willow's friend Michael (played by Chad Duell), who was excited to see his godson Wiley, preventing Brad from making another uncomfortable exit. Michael cuddled with the boy, who he doesn't know is really his son. He greeted Willow who was also happy to see him, as Brad's nerves mounted.

Willow's Valentine's Day date, detective Chase (played by Josh Swickard) showed up with Michael, pulling Willow away for their date, though Brad found it hard to keep his eyes off them given his talk with Willow. Michael then revealed to Brad that he had gotten a letter from his ex, Nelle. Brad grew scared, wondering if Nelle might reveal to Michael that she gave Brad their son after his adopted baby's death. Michael told him that Nelle was still attempting to have a connection with him, but he wouldn't be dragged down by sad memories of his lost son, given how happy his life was with his family, including Wiley.

The February 18th episode continued Valentine's Day festivities in Port Charles. Brad & Lucas grabbed drinks at the Floating Rib bar, though Lucas found Brad preoccupied and wanting to leave. Lucas reminded him that his mom Bobbie was babysitting Wiley and encouraging them to have alone time, especially after they ended their previous date night early. What Lucas didn't realize was that Brad was uncomfortable because he spied Willow & Chase at a nearby table.

Lucas showed off a picture Bobbie texted him of Wiley and Brad claimed that he was fine with sticking around and would get them more drinks. He gave Lucas a smooch before heading to the bar, where he ran into Lucas' father Julian, who was there on his own date. He warned that he was seeing Brad around Willow a bit too much, given their secrets. Brad quickly explained that it was all coincidence, before telling Julian that Willow told him about being the woman behind the adoption.

Back at their table, Lucas was joined by his nephew Michael, who revealed that he was there to meet his date, whom he met on a dating app, which had him feeling embarrassed. Lucas assured him that it wasn't embarrassing and that lots of people meet that way. He deserved to find love again. Over at the bar, Julian accused Brad of getting chummy with Willow, wondering if he told her that her baby was dead. Brad assured him he would never do that, bringing up Willow's request that her part in the adoption stay a secret, even from Lucas, which had him feeling more guilty about keeping secrets from his husband.

Julian's girlfriend Kim next joined Lucas while waiting for Julian to return from the bar. Lucas shared how difficult it was being away from Wiley, but he and Brad were still trying. Kim commended them, reminding him that it's not strange for new parents. Back at the bar, Julian warned Brad that everything could unravel for them if he starts telling Lucas his secrets. Brad didn't like Julian changing his tune from his previous decrees that it would all work out. Julian said that would be true, if Brad held his emotions together.

Unaware that Willow had already revealed to Chase that she gave-up her baby, Brad told Julian that she clearly didn't want her secret to come out. They were soon interrupted by Lucas and Kim. Lucas claimed he was stealing his husband back from his father, as Brad apologized for taking so long and keeping Julian from his date. Brad left with Lucas, putting on a smile and attempting to leave the drama behind.
