GayTV Recap: General Hospital (Episodes 14230-14231)

This week on General Hospital featured festive events for the show's gay couple of Lucas and Brad. Episode 14230 had Brad (played by Parry Shen) and Lucas (played by Ryan Carnes) arriving at the Corinthos house for their adopted son Wiley's naming ceremony, hosted by Lucas' sister Carly and her husband Sonny, who showed some affection for Wiley, claiming to be a good candidate for his godfather. The former mobster's pun left Brad a bit uneasy.

Before the ceremony could get underway, Lucas' birth father Julian showed up, leading most of them to believe he intended to crash the ceremony. He assured them that wasn't the case. Julian revealed that he was on a mission from his sister Ava to pick-up her and Sonny's daughter Avery for a visit. As Sonny & Carly resolved their issues and prepared Avery, Michael took the opportunity for some time with Wiley, leaving Brad feeling more uncomfortable. He got Julian alone, and brought up the truth that Wiley is really Michael's child, which Julian urged him to forget about, reminding him that Wiley is where he should be. Meanwhile, Lucas confided in his mom Bobbie about Brad's insecure behavior since Wiley's birth.

After Julian's departure, the naming ceremony began with Bobbie presiding. She led the official welcome and kind words of guidance to Wiley, followed by his aunt and designated godmother Sam. Wiley's godfather Michael spoke next, thanking his uncle Lucas and Brad for allowing him a special place in Wiley's life. Brad tried his best to keep his cool during the ceremony, holding tight to Wiley. With the ceremony done, Brad snapped a photo of Lucas with the boy.

Michael excused himself and his sister Josslyn found him outside, watching Brad & Lucas with Wiley from afar. He talked about how being around the baby was helping him cope with his baby's death. Brad secretly sent the photo of Lucas & Wiley to Julian and the couple prepared to depart. Lucas thanked his sister Carly for hosting the ceremony and Brad watched nervously, as Michael vowed to take care of Wiley like he would his own child, if anything were to ever happen to them.

Episode 14231 found Lucas back at the Corinthos house with Wiley for a Christmas celebration, while Brad was called into the hospital for work. Wiley was quickly the center of attention for everyone in attendance, including Michael who stole some time with the infant.

Later, Lucas watched Wiley bonding with Michael's uncle Jason, who talked about how much Wiley reminded him of Michael when he was just a baby. Lucas told Jason about how happy he's been since Wiley was born and how he's gotten everything he ever wanted in the child, with no need for gifts this Christmas.

Michael prepared to head to the hospital to drop off a charity donation, but Lucas caught up to him before he left, giving him a gift from him & Brad. Michael was touched by the framed photo of Wiley's footprint, with Lucas hoping that Wiley might follow in Michael's footsteps. Festivities moved to the hospital for the annual Christmas story reading for the hospitalized children. Lucas was present with Wiley as his mother Bobbie appeared as Santa with gifts for the sick kids.
