The science-fiction body horror Altered States starred William Hurt as Eddie Jessup, a psycho-physiologist who begins experiencing strange visions after his drug experiments inside a sensory-deprivation tank. When the visions become more and more intrusive and startling, he finds himself on a dangerous path that begins to affect his body in addition to his mind, placing those around him in danger as well. William showed various amounts of skin during the film, including rear nudity, with a flash of frontal nudity.
