Buck Braithwaite, Will Stevens & Mido Hamada on Alexander: The Making of a King (2024)

The new Netflix documentary series Alexander: The Making of a King intertwines historian interviews and real footage with dramatic recreations surrounding the life of Alexander (played by Buck Braithwaite), the King of Macedon who is considered to be one of history's greatest military commanders. The depictions of Greek history do not ignore Alexander's noted relationships with men, namely his longtime companion Hephaestion (played by Will Stevens). The first episode features some topless sparring between the two men, before they retreat to a river to make-out. Episode 1 also featured a brief shirtless scene for Mido Hamada who portrayed King Darius, who like Alexander, rose to power as a king in the wake of murder and chaos among royalty.
