25 Days of Gays: Moffie (2019)

The South African film Moffie tells the story of Nicholas (played by Kai Luke Brummer), a young closeted man who is forced into military service in 1981, a time when his native South Africa was embroiled in a fight to defend Apartheid. Nicholas comes of age, dealing with racism while hiding his sexuality among his comrades. He soon bonds with fellow soldier Dylan (played by Ryan de Villiers), though their relationship proves to be no match for the world around them. Kai showed rear nudity for his role, along with his co-stars Matthew Vey & Stefan Vermaak for shower scenes with multiple other background actors. Ryan was shirtless. Co-stars Shaun Chad Smit & Jan Combrink were also shirtless. The film was written and directed by Oliver Hermanus who also wrote and directed Beauty, which was previously featured during 25 Days of Gays.
