GayTV Recap: General Hospital (Episodes 14347-14361)

With the truth surrounding their son Wiley's adoption spreading throughout Port Charles and its connection to the town's villainous cult leader Shiloh, husbands Lucas (played by Ryan Carnes) and Brad (played by Parry Shen) have been featured more prominently in recent weeks on General Hospital, as their family dramas have ramped up. Lucas showed up at his father Julian's pub during Episode 14347 and he was promptly confronted by his adopted sister Carly, who was not happy to hear that Lucas was seeking help from his untrustworthy birth father, instead of her and her powerful husband Sonny. Lucas reminded her to keep her voice down in public, as Julian (played by William deVry) joined them, not happy to hear his name being disparaged for his good deeds.

Julian stood up for himself, telling Carly that he was doing everything in his power to protect his son and his son's family and that he would never do anything to sabotage Lucas & Brad's custody of Wiley. Carly, however, was unrelenting. Julian temporarily excused himself from the conversation, as Lucas tried to calm his sister down. Carly reminded him about Julian's dangerous past and the fact that it was expressly forbidden in his adoption agreement to have anything to do with him, which could put Lucas & Brad's custody in jeopardy if it comes down to a legal fight.

With Shiloh under arrest, Carly tried to assure Lucas that things were working out, but Lucas reminded her that charges don't always stick. That's why Julian took measures to eliminate the paper trail that could lead from Willow to Wiley. Julian assured her that they were all in agreement with their current plan and didn't need violent interference from Carly or her family, further annoying her. They were interrupted by Carly's stepdaughter Kristina, looking to show off her new drink for the bar. She wondered what they were whispering about, but they all kept quiet, feeling far too many people knew about the adoption drama already.

After Kristina shared her happiness with being back at work after all of her drama with Dawn of Day and Shiloh, she left to take out the trash. Carly took the opportunity to warn Lucas again that he was letting his fear of losing Wiley take control and that was causing him to lean on Julian, but she told him it was only an illusion of control, annoying Julian. She told him that he had to think like a parent about what was best for Wiley. They were all then caught off-guard when Shiloh appeared at the pub entrance, seeing Kristina. Realizing he was no longer in police custody, they all got much more nervous. They rallied around Kristina, as Julian promptly threw him out. Lucas was left more worried than ever to hear that the charges against Shiloh had been dropped.

Episode 14350 found Lucas' husband Brad on the receiving end of a lecture from Carly's husband, Sonny. He grabbed coffee with Julian outside the diner, sharing his fear that Shiloh was out of police custody. Julian warned him not to think of worst case scenarios and instead focus on a solution to the Shiloh problem. Sonny then arrived, suggesting Julian stay out of this and let Sonny handle it. He told Julian that he understood his position, wanting to help his son and grandson. Brad then felt completely uncomfortable as Julian brought up Sonny potentially eliminating Shiloh, which he offered to help with.

Sonny told Julian that he doesn't discuss his plans and that Julian was jumping to conclusions. He wondered why Brad was wasting his time with Julian, anyway, given his adoption agreement. He told Brad that this wasn't about him or Lucas. It was about keeping Wiley safe. Sonny vowed that he would do what he could to protect the child, not knowing that Wiley is actually his son Michael's child, not Shiloh's.

After Sonny's departure, Julian assured Brad that he had taken care of any documentation that would lead Shiloh to Wiley, which made Brad feel better, until Julian said that it didn't mean there couldn't be more potential trouble. He brought up Brad's secret that only Julian knows, about Wiley's true origins, after Brad's baby swap. He wanted to make sure that Wiley's true birth mother wasn't going to show up and make a claim. Brad assured him that Wiley's actual birth mother was definitely out of the picture and not a threat. Julian said that was good because that mystery woman would have DNA to back her up and that was something that no one could eliminate.

This chat led Brad to the prison in Episode 14351, where he looked to have a chat with Wiley's real birth mother, his old pal, Nelle. Pretending to be making a supply delivery from the hospital, Brad found Nelle working in the infirmary and got her help with unloading the supplies, giving them time to talk, away from the prison guard. Nelle was very happy to see Brad, but instantly realized he was upset about something. She wondered if it had to do with her baby, but Brad quickly corrected her, saying that it was his child and Wiley was fine, but he wanted to keep it that why by coming to see Nelle.

Nelle wondered if Carly might be getting suspicious of Wiley's true parentage, but Brad told her that wasn't the problem. He revealed to her everything about the adoption crisis and Willow, the woman who believes Wiley is her son she gave up, and the danger surrounding the man who fathered Willow's child, Shiloh. He told Nelle that he could be on the verge of losing everything, especially his son and his husband if the truth of Wiley's paternity comes out. He looked to make sure they were still on the same page and that Nelle was still onboard with keeping their secret, but Nelle was more interested in knowing about Michael's life without her.

Brad told Nelle that she had to stop thinking about Michael and give-up on her old life in Port Charles. Nelle then revealed that she's been on her best behavior and could be up for an early parole. When she told him that she was thinking about returning to be a part of her son's life, Brad wasn't sure that was a good idea. Nelle told him to relax, reminding him that she was his greatest ally and she would do anything to ensure Wiley's happiness.

Brad got her to promise that she would never make a claim on Wiley, even if someone else like Shiloh came forward and tried to do it. Nelle said she would never want anyone else to raise her child, but she wouldn't cause any trouble for Brad, especially if it meant that Wiley never ended up in her nemesis Carly's hands. When the prison guard checked on them to see if Brad was done, he decided to make his exit, unsure of whether the visit truly made him feel better.

Episode 14357 proved that Brad wasn't feeling much better. Carly arrived at the hospital, only for her mother Bobbie to inform her that Brad was there, complaining of stomach pains. She took Carly to see him and Brad promptly announced that he felt like he was dying. Longtime nurse Bobbie assured him and Carly that it wasn't the case, given the tests that had already been run. She told them that she thought his pain was being brought on by acid reflux or perhaps an anxiety attack, not Brad's suspicions of stomach cancer.

Carly figured it probably was anxiety and stress, given everything that was going on. Bobbie suggested Brad make an appointment to see psychiatrist Kevin, but Brad refused. She then suggested that he talk to another medical professional about his stress ... his mother-in-law. Carly thought that would be a great idea, until she realized that Brad & Lucas never told Bobbie about their adoption drama currently unfolding. Brad said they didn't want to burden Bobbie. Lucas later arrived at the hospital, where Carly told him where to find Brad, and that Brad had told their mother about everything that was going on with Willow & Shiloh. Lucas took a deep breath and prepared to face his mother.

Lucas got to Brad's room, followed closely by Carly. He looked to check on Brad's condition, while Bobbie wondered why they had been keeping the drama surrounding Wiley's adoption a secret from her. Lucas apologized to his mother for not keeping her in the loop. Bobbie had questions about the adoption records potentially being unsealed. This led Lucas & Brad to reveal that it was impossible, since the records no longer existed, thanks to Julian. This left Bobbie feeling more upset about the whole situation.

Bobbie accused Julian of making things worse, but Lucas assured her that he was only trying to help and doing what he was asked to do, to help ensure that there was no connection between Willow and Wiley, to keep Shiloh from finding him. Bobbie worried that if anyone found out, it could be very bad. Carly agreed, but Lucas wasn't hearing it. He asked for alone time with Brad to make sure he was doing okay medically. Bobbie soon departed the hospital, to confront Julian.

Episode 14358 came next and Lucas was on-duty at the hospital when his mother returned from her confrontation with Julian. Her friend Scott was with her and promptly informed Lucas that his mother fainted after her argument with Julian. Lucas immediately wanted to examine her to make sure she was okay, but Bobbie assured him that it was because she had skipped breakfast and the day got away from her. She was sure she was fine, but Lucas demanded that she let him make sure. She reluctantly agreed. Lucas asked her questions about other potential symptoms and Bobbie got the suspicion that he thought she might have a real medical problem.

Lucas wanted to run more tests, including a blood test, as he was suspicious that she might have diabetes. Bobbie told him that was impossible and that she would have known if that's what her symptoms pointed to. She insisted on continuing her day and getting back to work, despite Lucas' assertion that she should go home and get some rest. She thanked him for his concern, but she was sure the test wouldn't find anything. Bobbie departed, leaving Lucas still worried.

Episode 14359 began with Brad crossing paths with his & Lucas' lawyer Alexis at the pub, where he and Julian were hoping for an update on Willow's court case, as Shiloh was hoping to get a judge to help confirm that Willow had his child and was keeping him from her. Alexis assured them that Willow's lawyer, the very talented Diane would help keep Shiloh at bay. She then got a call from Diane to fill her in on what happened in the courtroom. Meanwhile, back at the hospital, Lucas found his mother still working. He was annoyed that she hadn't returned his text, but Bobbie told him about how busy things had gotten. She thought he might have an update on the Shiloh drama, but Lucas told her they needed to talk about her test results.

Alexis ended her call and informed Brad & Julian that Willow refused to cooperate with the judge and answer any questions about her baby's whereabouts, which seemed to relieve them both. Brad spoke about Willow's willingness to do anything to protect Wiley. Alexis wasn't so sure it turned out well, given that Willow was taken into police custody for contempt of court, after she had an emotional outburst that included revealing she had Shiloh's baby and that she would never tell him where the child is. Back at the hospital, Lucas got Bobbie into his office and revealed to her that her test results did show that she had type-2 diabetes, shocking her.

At the pub, Julian tried to calm Brad, but Alexis wanted to deal in truth. Willow was doing her best, but Brad knew that Lucas wouldn't like the idea of her being forced to sit in prison until she cracked and told everyone about what happened to her baby. Alexis suggested that Brad and Lucas be proactive and get ahead of this, before Shiloh could find Wiley. Despite Julian's protest, she suggested that Brad & Lucas come forward publicly and reveal that Wiley is the child that Shiloh is looking for, shocking Brad. Alexis told them that it would make them look like the innocent party in the eyes of the court and it would give them a good position in a custody battle, given Shiloh's accused crimes.

Back at the hospital, Bobbie dealt with her diagnosis, denying that it could be possible that she has diabetes. She told Lucas about how well she takes care of herself, how well she eats and the fact that she's helped treat numerous patients who have the disease. How could she not have known for herself? Lucas reminded her that, as medical professionals, they often find it easier to diagnose others than themselves. He told her that what was important now was that she face this and understand that it doesn't mean her life is over, but it means she has to be even more vigilant with her health.

Back at the pub, Brad told Alexis that he couldn't get onboard with coming out and telling Shiloh that Wiley is his child. Julian agreed, that it would be the same as giving up. Alexis said that it would be putting them in a position to stay a step ahead of Shiloh. When she mentioned all of the steps Shiloh has to go through, including a paternity test, Brad freaked out even more, saying they couldn't let that happen. Meanwhile, Lucas forced his mother to read the documentation on diabetes, despite her knowledge of it. They talked about the risks of further health problems, including heart disease and Lucas begged her to take care of herself, because he didn't want to lose her.

Brad told Alexis that he had to go pick up Wiley and talk to Lucas before they could make any decision about going public with Wiley's paternity. He later arrived at the hospital with Wiley, where Lucas was waiting. He was glad to get his hands on his son, as a nervous Brad wanted to discuss his talk with Alexis. He tried to start the conversation, only for them to be interrupted by the arrival of Bobbie.

After checking to see if Brad was feeling better since she last saw him, Bobbie looked to get some bonding time with her grandson Wiley. She told Wiley that his grandmother wasn't going anywhere for a long time. She professed her love for all three of them, saying that she was going to be focused on her family because it's the most important thing in her life. Lucas was happy to hear his mother in good spirits after her medical diagnosis.

Episode 14360 found Lucas in a confrontation with Shiloh (played by Coby Ryan McLaughlin). He spotted the man getting close to his sister Sam in the park, leading him to rush over, pushing Shiloh away and warning him not to put his hands on his sister, ever again, after his previous attempt to rape her. Sam tried to hold the furious Lucas at bay, as he threatened Shiloh to leave his sister, his husband, and his son alone. Sam quickly pulled Lucas away before he could lash out anymore. She got him alone and warned him that he had to reign in his talk of family in front of Shiloh.

Lucas wondered if she thought Shiloh might get suspicious because of what he said. Sam told him that anything's possible. She said that he could have just thought Lucas was jealous of Shiloh trying to lure her and Brad to Dawn of Day, but they have to be careful and keep level-headed, especially around Shiloh. Lucas felt a bit more nervous. Sam left him behind, and it was soon clear that they had reason to worry, as Shiloh was left wondering about the specificity of Lucas' threat, including his reference to his adopted child.

The following episode, 14361, saw Lucas arriving back at the hospital, where he found Brad waiting. With Bobbie spending the evening with Wiley, Lucas thought it was a good idea after their long day. Brad agreed and then took the opportunity to fill Lucas in on his conversation with their lawyer, Alexis. He told Lucas about her idea that they should come forward and reveal that Wiley is the child that Shiloh is searching for. When Lucas responded that it might be the right thing to do for everyone, Brad was caught off-guard and unhappy.

Lucas told him that if they came forward it would leave them looking like an innocent party, unlike Shiloh. Brad refuted that, saying that he thinks Alexis is wrong. He said that what they should be doing is grabbing Wiley and then leaving Port Charles for good to ensure that no one is able to take Wiley away from them. Lucas wasn't happy to hear that, as Brad talked about all of the places they could relocate to. Lucas put his foot down, saying that fleeing Port Charles, and leaving behind all of their family was not an option.

Lucas reasoned that if they fled town and Shiloh's lawsuit against Willow proceeded, it would look like they adopted Wiley knowing that his father hadn't given permission. That would make them fugitives and that was a life that he didn't want for their child. Brad agreed, but he couldn't help thinking it might be worth it, if it kept Wiley away from Shiloh. Brad began clutching his stomach, as he could feel his pain from anxiety returning.

Lucas sat down next to Brad, trying to keep things as calm as possible. He said that he agreed with Brad that keeping Wiley safe from Shiloh needed to be their primary focus, but they had to play by the rules and think clearly. He said again that he agreed with Alexis that they should come forward publicly about Wiley's paternity so they could continue to keep their hands clean. Knowing that the next step would likely be a paternity test, Brad was unable to formulate a response to Lucas.

This sent Brad running to find Julian at the pub, only to discover that he wasn't there. Brad instead ran right into Shiloh, terrifying him. Shiloh tried to make small talk, inquiring about what was clearly upsetting Brad. He told Shiloh that he was looking for his father-in-law but he wasn't there. Shiloh then offered an ear to listen to Brad's problems, just as he had done before at Dawn of Day. Brad grew even more uncomfortable and lashed out, demanding Shiloh stay away from him. Brad fled, but their interaction left Shiloh thinking back to their Dawn of Day sessions and how Brad talked about Wiley's birth mother coming into their lives and her issues with the baby's father. This left Shiloh wondering if Brad & Lucas' child might be his son.
