GayTV Recap: Days of Our Lives (Episodes 54x110-54x117)

The storyline for the gays of Days of Our Lives has continued to add twists and drama. Episode 54x110 found Sonny (played by Freddie Smith) and Will (played by Chandler Massey) at the police station being chastised by Sonny's father Justin when he returned to town to discover they told the police the truth about the incident that saw them attempting to dispose of not-so-dead Leo's body. Acting as their lawyer, Justin warned them that it was a bad move especially since the new acting district attorney is Leo's former lawyer Ted, who had helped his blackmail scheme against Sonny. They headed to court and came out of it happy, as they were released on bail.

Despite the legal battle ahead, Will & Sonny were happy to finally be free of Leo's blackmail and allowed to openly show their love. Justin put a damper on that, though, warning them not to do anything to cross Leo, given the charges they are facing. He demanded the duo keep their distance from one another, forcing them to part ways until their legal problems were behind them.

Angry with his father's tactics, Sonny lashed out after they left the police station. Faced with the potential of continuing to deal with Leo, and losing Will by going to prison, he implied that he might skip town with his love, violating his bail agreement. Justin warned him not to do that and to be patient. Meanwhile, Will was confronted in the town square by Leo, who was upset to see that he was not in jail.

Unwilling to play nice with Leo any longer, Will warned him to watch his mouth and keep his distance, believing he wasn't going to get away with his legal scheme. Before things could get too heated, Will's grandmother Marlena arrived, getting between them. Despite Marlena's warning for him to stay away from her grandson, Leo continued to hurl insults. When he involved Marlena in them, Will reached a breaking point, punching Leo out in the public square.

Over at the Kiriakis mansion, Sonny arrived home to see his uncle Victor making some kind of deal with Leo's mother, Diana. He curiously watched, unaware that Victor had agreed to help Diana break-up Marlena and her husband John in exchange for Diana convincing Leo to drop the charges against Sonny due to Diana's love for John and her revelation that John is Leo's birth father. Back in the square, Leo threatened Will once again for punching him, just as John arrived, warning Will to back down. This led Marlena to wonder why John was suddenly defending Leo.

Episode 54x111 picked up where things left off, with Sonny being caught snooping by his cousin Brady. Sonny filled in Brady on his case with Leo, and being out on bail. He told Brady about being uneasy seeing Diana with Victor, though he couldn't hear what they were talking about. Back in the square, John tried to diffuse the tense situation, leading Marlena to ask for an explanation as he appeared to side with Leo. John, honoring Diana's wish to not tell Marlena or Leo about him being Leo's birth father, instead told Marlena that it would hurt Will's court battle if he gave Leo more ammunition with a public assault. Leo surprisingly thanked John for standing up for him, leaving Marlena & Will more upset.

John tried to explain his reasoning to an angry Will, but he didn't accept that, as he accused John of siding with Leo instead of his family. Will left them and caught up with his uncle Eric at the pub, updating him on the legal issues and him being forced away from Sonny again. Back at the Kiriakis mansion, Sonny shared his distrust of Diana and her potentially having secrets with Victor. Brady suggested they confront him together, to put pressure on him to tell them the truth. Sonny agreed.

After Will explained his anger towards John for appearing to side with Leo, Eric tried to convince him that John was coming from a neutral place and just trying to diffuse things. Will then provided an ear for Eric to vent his frustrations over his own family drama with his brother Rex. Meanwhile, Leo arrived at his mother's hotel room, confronting her about her connection to Victor and her meeting with him. He threatened her, wanting to know what was going on.

Back at the Kiriakis mansion, Sonny & Brady presented a united front with Victor, wanting to know what he was talking to Diana about. Victor didn't want to tell them details, but came clean that it did indeed have to do with the charges against Will & Sonny. He explained that he made a deal with Diana that if she could get Leo to drop the charges, Victor would make it worth her while. Sonny, however, wanted to know exactly what Victor offered. Over at the pub, Will provided Eric with some advice, before they were interrupted by Rex, leading Will to make his exit after Eric gave him hope that things would work out with Sonny.

Before Sonny could get answers from Victor, they were interrupted by the arrival of Marlena. Sonny & Brady were happy to see Brady's stepmother, but surprised when Victor demanded they give them time to talk alone. Brady & Sonny headed out of the room and Brady tried to assure a worried Sonny that whatever Victor was up to had to be in Sonny's best interest. Sonny remained unsure.

Back at the Salem Inn, Diana warned Leo not to threaten her, as she reminded him that she knows more about him than anyone else, including the fact that he killed his father. Leo warned her about working with Victor to bring him down, or possibly revealing his secret. Diana demanded that he go clean up his mess, making him leave. Meanwhile, Sonny called Will, telling him about the apparent deal Victor made with Diana. Will was curious about the details, but Sonny revealed he didn't have them, but he was starting to think they had something to do with Will's grandmother, Marlena. They were unaware that at that moment Victor revealed to Marlena that her husband is Leo's father.

Episode 54x115 found Will and Sonny having another clandestine meeting in secret. They both vented about having to be separated again at Justin's demand so they don't make things worse with Leo. Will said he was tired of all of this and he had a plan, but first the two shared a romantic kiss.

Sonny agreed to face anything with Will after that kiss. Will reminded Sonny of the reason they sent John looking for Diana in the first place, because they thought she had information that could help them bring down Leo. Sonny then reminded Will that Diana refused to help them after she came to Salem. Will revealed his plan to find the information Diana is hiding about Leo themselves. This led the duo to her hotel room.

They got into Diana's room and began their search for information, though, they were quickly interrupted by a knock on the door from an arriving Leo. The two scrambled to figure out their next move, as they overheard Leo talking to a staff member about leaving his wallet in the room and needing to be let in. They hid out of sight as Leo entered, appearing to be looking for something as well.

They overheard Leo talking to himself, wondering where his mother was keeping something, as he searched for her proof of his past role in his father's death. Leo attempted to get into his mother's safe, but came up empty, unaware that Will & Sonny were watching. Leo left unsuccessful, but Will & Sonny were left feeling more confident that Diana had something in that safe on Leo. They quickly became determined to crack it.

Episode 54x117 picked things up with Sonny & Will talking on the phone. They deduced that the information they needed to take down Leo must be in that safe. Will remarked that safe-cracking wasn't an easy task. Sonny vowed to figure out how to get into Diana's hotel room safe by practicing on his family's safe in the mansion. He headed into the living room, only to run right into Leo.

When their phones collided, dropping to the floor, Sonny grabbed his and Leo's phones, seeing that Leo was looking up safe-cracking. Leo urged Sonny to stay out of his business, or he would regret it. Sonny revisited his attempt to get Leo to end his scheming, promising to give him a very large alimony payment if he would drop the charges against him & Will and grant Sonny a divorce. Leo continued to refuse that option, not wanting to put any distance between himself and Sonny's inheritance.

He vowed to continue living it up as Sonny's husband, while Sonny rotted in prison, just like Will. He walked away, again refusing Sonny's deal. Over at the pub, Will arrived to hear his grandmother Marlena and John talking about Leo. He interrupted, causing them to clam up about Leo potentially being John's son. He & John shared apologies for what happened in the square, as they both realized the family should be coming together to stop Leo with a united front. Back at the mansion, Sonny promised himself that he would get to the information on Leo and get him out of his and Will's lives for good.

Will revealed to Marlena & John that he and Sonny went into Diana's room looking for information on Leo. They scolded him for their reckless decision, especially after Leo got there. Will then told them about Leo's attempt to get into Diana's safe to find something. Realizing it might be the information they need to put an end to Leo's schemes, Marlena looked to enlist John to get it, knowing he has the skills to crack a safe. Back at the Kiriakis mansion, Sonny tried his hand at safe-cracking himself.

Sonny's efforts with the family safe weren't successful, as he grew frustrated. Will called him, letting him know that John was on a mission to crack the safe himself. This left Sonny feeling much better, given John's spy training. Will hoped Sonny might keep Leo busy so he wouldn't go anywhere near the Salem Inn, but Sonny revealed that he had no idea where Leo had gone. At the Salem Inn, John managed to get the safe open, retrieving a large envelope, just as Leo arrived outside the door with plans to go for the safe himself.
