GayTV Recap: Grey's Anatomy (Episode 15x6)
This week's new episode of Grey's Anatomy featured a big development in the slowly simmering storyline between gay surgeon Dr. Nico Kim (played by Alex Landi) and introverted intern Dr. Levi Schmitt (played by Jake Borelli). This week's episode found Schmitt assigned to work with ortho surgeon Linc (played by Chris Carmack). He immediately felt overwhelmed, having never worked in orthopedics. Kim swooped in, offering to help him out with his new assignment.
This led to the two working close together on a case involving a young boy and his injured arm. While reviewing x-rays alone together, things got personal when Kim asked Schmitt again about getting a drink with him. When Schmitt declined, Kim wondered if he might have a boyfriend. Schmitt revealed he wasn't in a relationship and asked the same of Kim, who revealed that his surgical fellowship doesn't leave much time for relationships, though he is open to one. Their attention was then redirected to a troubling mass on their young patient's x-ray.
Schmitt & Kim stuck together to provide support for Linc as they revealed the tumor to the boy and his distraught mother. They handled the boy's injured arm while Linc calmed his mother, revealing his own cancer history.
At the end of the shift, Kim found Schmitt in the elevator. Left alone, Schmitt thanked him for his help and things got steamy as Kim pulled Schmitt in for a major kiss. Schmitt was caught off-guard but clearly excited by the surprise. They broke things up as the elevator doors opened to let someone else inside.
Schmitt attempted to regroup, as Kim continued to eye him. When they were finally left alone again, Schmitt revealed that he was a virgin and had never kissed another man before but that he was open to Kim helping him with that. This took Kim by surprise and he told Schmitt that, although he was completely his type, he couldn't handle helping him come out after his own experiences. He let Schmitt down, leaving him disappointed.
