GayTV Recap: Days of Our Lives (Episodes 54x37-39)

Things reached a major climax for the gays of Days of Our Lives this week. Episode 56x37 opened with Will (played by Chandler Massey) and Paul (played by Christopher Sean) arriving at their new apartment only to discover that none of their furniture had arrived. Will freaked out, but Paul stepped in, knowing he could solve the problem by calling in a favor.

After getting Paul's friend's assistance with the apartment furnishing, Will volunteered to grab food from his family's pub for their first meal in the new place, while Paul revealed he would continue unpacking boxes while Will was out. Will told him that he wouldn't be long and that Paul should skip Will's personal boxes. The two shared a quick kiss before Will's departure.

Will arrived at the Brady Pub to pick up his food order and unexpectedly ran into his love Sonny (played by Freddie Smith). Though Sonny tried to make their interaction quick so Will could get back to Paul, Will made sure he knew that he still loved him.

They agreed that it would have to be the last time they expressed their love openly, knowing that they had to be done, for Paul's sake. Will revealed to Sonny that he had been writing about his feelings in his journal, just as Paul went exploring in one of Will's boxes and found the journal, tempting him to take a look.

Episode 54x38 began with Paul being interrupted before he could open Will's journal. He got a visit from his brother, Brady, looking to drop-off a house-warming gift. Meanwhile, Will got side-tracked once again when he ran into his daughter's mother Gabi outside the pub. He opened up to her about his love for Sonny being kept a secret so that he could be there for Paul, surprising her, while Paul confided in Brady about his insecurity when it came to Will's feelings.

This led Brady to come clean with Paul about the truth regarding Will & Sonny's love returning. Paul was shocked when Brady told him about how he overheard Will telling Sonny that his feelings had returned on the night of Paul's fall. Brady then told him how he stepped in, demanding that Will stay with Paul after his accident. Paul was stunned to learn that his bad feeling was rooted in the actual truth. While Will disagreed with Gabi's thoughts of him being a self-less person for his decision, Paul confronted Brady about trying to force Will to stay with him when he's in love with Sonny.

Brady apologized for interfering in Paul's life, but assured him that he was only trying to protect him. An emotional Paul thanked him for telling him the truth, but asked him to leave so that he could sort himself out before Will returned. When Will did arrive with the food, Paul revealed that he hadn't gotten far with the boxes because he was going to move out, surprising Will.

Episode 54x39 opened with Sonny back home, lamenting his loss of love while a confused Will wondered why Paul was talking about moving out. Paul told him that he knew the truth that Will was back in-love with Sonny. Will disputed it, but Paul told him that there was no sense in denying it because he knew it was true.

Sonny was joined by his mother Adrienne who looked to cheer him up with some comfort food. She revealed that her evil twin issues were behind her, which Sonny was glad to hear, though she noticed his mood was not really improved. Meanwhile, Paul looked for answers about Will's feelings, given his previous declarations that nothing had changed when his memory came back. Will explained it all, telling him that he didn't want his feelings for Paul to change but remembering his life with Sonny showed him that their love was in his blood.

Adrienne questioned Sonny's decision to give-up his love for Will in order to help Paul, knowing that it wasn't a good thing for any of them. Sonny told her that the decision had been made and that led Adrienne to promise to help him find someone new, catching him off-guard. Back at the apartment, Will told Paul that his feelings for him didn't change and that he couldn't bring himself to break his heart after he was paralyzed saving Will's mother. Paul reiterated that he didn't want Will to be with him out of pity. Will told him that it wasn't pity. He still loved him.

Adrienne scrolled through a dating app on Sonny's phone, espousing tips on finding new love, until she realized how much it wasn't helping Sonny to encourage him to find a new guy. She apologized and promised to just comfort him in any way he needed. Meanwhile, Paul told Will that he has never wanted anything from Will but for him to be happy. Knowing he was in-love with Sonny meant he had to go. Will agreed to move-out, apologizing for hurting Paul, which was the last thing he wanted.

Left alone, Paul shed some tears for his lost love. Will headed over to Sonny's house to tell him that Paul knew the truth and that they could now be together. Adrienne answered the door, shocking him with the news that he just missed Sonny, who had decided to leave town.
