GayTV Recap: Grey's Anatomy (Episode 15x5)
This week's new episode of Grey's Anatomy featured some screentime for the show's recurring gay subplot involving new surgeon Dr. Nico Kim (played by Alex Landi) and intern Dr. Levi Schmitt (played by Jake Borelli). Schmitt started the episode alongside his fellow intern, and friend, Taryn Helm as they were given a warning to step-up in the emergency room in the wake of the firing of fellow intern Dr. Roy.
Schmitt, however, was soon distracted by Dr. Kim who pressed him about buying him the drink he owed him back in the season premiere. Kim urged him to take him up on it that night. When a nervous Schmitt claimed to maybe have other plans, Kim told him where he'd be if he changed his mind. This was all overheard by Helm, who wondered why Schmitt would turn down a date with the new hot doc. Schmitt swore it wasn't supposed to be a date.
Rattled by their interaction, Schmitt had trouble focusing on work. Schmitt and Helm continued to discuss the situation, as she noticed him unable to keep his eyes off Kim. This caused the two to neglect a patient, which put the interns in hot water with their resident, Dr. DeLuca.
In the end, Schmitt went to the bar to meet Kim for that drink, only to discover that he was already occupied with having drinks and relaxing with the other residents and attending who happen to be Schmitt's supervisors. Helm appeared, admitting she must have misread the situation after all. Schmitt was left disappointed that Kim wasn't actually interested in him. But is that really the case? We'll find out when the storyline continues.
