GayTV Recap: Days of Our Lives (Episode 54x22)
Days of Our Lives explored its gay love triangle in one episode this week. Will (played by Chandler Massey) took a break from watching over the paralyzed Paul (played by Christopher Sean) to check in with his love Sonny (played by Freddie Smith). Paul surprised Will by leaving his room, dressed and ready to escape the hospital. Paul was instantly worried about the bit of conversation he overheard before Will noticed his arrival.
Will & Paul headed to the square for some frozen yogurt and conversation soon shifted from Paul's paralysis and his future to the conversation he overheard Will having. Sonny arrived, covering for Will, and telling Paul that he called Will for their daughter Ariana, so that she could speak to Will. A relieved Paul then gushed over how supportive Will has been in helping him since his fall.
The trio grabbed frozen yogurt together, allowing Sonny to fill them in on the happenings at his house, involving Will's former surrogate mom Susan, who remains at Sonny's family home. When he mentioned her potentially moving into Horton House where Will & Paul are living, Paul revealed that he and Will would be getting their own wheelchair-accessible place together. This caught Sonny off-guard, making him and Will uncomfortable, as Paul expressed excitement about the move.
Will left with Paul to get him back to the hospital after Sonny promised to help Paul in any way he needs going forward. Left alone, a contemplative Sonny found Will's keys and realized how difficult it was keeping his feelings for Will a secret in front of Paul.
Will returned to get his keys and the two discussed the situation, coming to the conclusion that despite how hard it is, they have to keep up their charade so that Paul can have Will's support, despite their now-secret love for each other.
