The Finnish film Tom of Finland chronicles the true story of Touko Laaksonen (played by Pekka Strang), a gay military officer who finds an outlet for his frustrations in his homoerotic depictions of the male form. With his signature Tom of Finland, his artwork would become an emblem in the fight for gay rights. The film opens with a group of naked extras, playing soldiers in Touko's company, showing rear and frontal nudity as they frolic in an icy lake. Pekka also shows nudity for a bed scene later in the film, along with several shirtless scenes.
